Weekly Golf Activities

Tuesdays
Tuesday is “Ladies Day”. All ladies are welcome to join the gathering of ladies that play at 12:30 pm (9 holes) and also the group of ladies that play at 5:30 pm (9 holes). You do not need to attend every week…. participate as you would like to. A banquet is held in the spring that is a great chance to meet those involved and learn more about weekly play.
Wednesdays
Wednesday is “Men’s Day”. The golf course is widely available for play if teeing off before 10:00 am. After that, members have reserved tee time that they use each week. If there is a time that works well with your schedule, we can help find a group for you to join. There are usually 100 to 125 men playing golf each Wednesday throughout the summer.
Thursdays

A Thursday Night Men’s 9 Hole League was started in 2013 with great success. The league is a 6:00 pm shotgun start and features two-man teams playing in a hole-by-hole match play format. Most participants will stop in the clubhouse after golf to socialize together and enjoy food and drink specials. This league is an outstanding opportunity to meet new people.

Fridays

The membership has held a Friday Night 9 Hole Couples’ League for 30+ years. This is a popular night of fun that is very relaxed and non-competitive. Even if you have never played golf before, you will have a blast participating in Couples’ Night. Each group consists of four couples and tee-off time is between 6:00 pm and 6:15 pm. After golf, most couples (usually around 80 people) stay for dinner and refreshments in the clubhouse. This is a great social activity and an excellent way to get to know more members.

Other Amenities

Accessible Golf
Tee times are equally available to all members and their families. Spencer Golf and Country Club hosts approximately 13,500 rounds of golf per year, while most other Northwest Iowa golf courses host 25,000 to 40,000 rounds per year. Fewer rounds of golf played = incredible course conditions, more accessibility to play, and fewer traffic jams on the course.
Scenic Clubhouse

Members have access to quality dining service, unique social functions, spacious meeting rooms, and high-speed internet access. Our clubhouse is an attractive venue for any business or family event.

Golf Tournaments

Several tournaments are scheduled throughout the golf season for men, women, and youth. Whether you enjoy recreational or competitive golf, there are events that you will enjoy. We encourage you to start a USGA handicap to get acquainted with tournament golf and challenge yourself to improve. It’s all about having fun!
